What Is the Contemporary Use of Aromatherapy and Essential Oils?

Resize3Aromatherapy has been a serious discipline in the healing process and for rituals for many centuries. Throughout the ages, aromas have been used not only for healing on a physical level but also on a spiritual level. With respect to contemporary aromatherapy, the French have played a significant role in its development. Dr. Jean Valnet opened new doors to twentieth century aromatherapy with his book, The Practice of Aromatherapy. In it, he provides the proper elements to understand the medical aspects of aromatherapy. Philippe Malhebiau introduced the characterological aspect of plants in healing with essential oils, and Mireille Nedelec developped aromatherapy healing on the five physical and subtle bodies with the creation of the “Auric Perfume” and the “Cosmic Perfumes”.

As a natural therapy, aromatherapy is perfectly compatible and recommended to be used in conjunction with the other alternative medicines and energetic healing processes such as Harmoniatherapy, Reiki, healing breathing sessions, crystalotherapy, chiropractic, massage, reflexology, magnetism, acupuncture, auriculotherapy, etc. Aromatherapy adds a special energy to the other therapies used. Moreover, it protects the therapist and his/her client from contracting illnesses. At the end of her seminars, Mireille Nedelec often says, “When aromatherapy is properly used it will not only help to bolster the immunological system of the bodies to make us healthier, but it will also help to raise the vibration rate of humanity and bring it closer to realization. Then, all of us will become stronger and happier.”
